This is to ensure you have a basic knowledge of how to birth a drum. \nYou know and have experience of shamanic journeying\, as this is an important aspect of the drum birthing process. If you don’t have this experience then there may be an opportunity to learn it with us prior to doing the course. \nAs part of the application\, please email us with details of your experience with birthing drums\, and shamanic journeying\, whether you have completed the Shamanic Pathways course with us or not and why you would like to take part as well as any other relevant experience. We would also ask you to send photos of drums that you have birthed yourself. \nThere is a maximum of four places available and we will only be able to run the course with four people. \nFee£995 per person with a 50% deposit to secure your space. The deposit is non-refundable or transferable. The full balance will be due one month before the course starts. \nWe have basic shared accommodation available at £5 per person per night if you would like to stay over or there are local B&B’s available too. \nTo apply please email Lynn.gosney@hotmail.comor ccearthevents@live.co.uk \n  \nMeet Your TeachersLynn GosneyIt was over 25 years ago that I made my first drum\, and it was a truly beautiful craft – one that is in the heart and cannot be found in any book. I’m eager to share what I have learnt along the way. \nOriginally Hind Hart drums was created in 2003 and ran till 2011\, when with Jonathan Weekes we setup Heron Drums. After deciding I wanted to take the drum birthing workshops on a smaller scale again\, I decided to put CC into our drums and be known as Caer Corhrain Drums. \nDuring the summer of 2023 I was asked if I would run a teacher training course in Drum Birthing. We then successfully completed the first course in January 2024 which I hope was the first of many courses to come. I’m looking forward to sharing all that I have learnt over the years.<3 \nWendy RuddickI birthed my first drum in 2016 and absolutely loved it and have birthed many more since under the guidance of Lynn. I support drum birthing workshops at Caer Corhrain and am now holding my own under the name Wild Heart Drum. \nFrom the students: \n“Such a beautiful experience\, so honoured to have been a part of it\, also I have four drums and a new skill to move forward with\, thank you Lynn and Wendy for sharing the wisdom and holding such an authentic grounded open space for learning and growing” –Daren Palmer \n“Amazing experience\, feeling more confident than ever ready to breath life into many more drums to come. Thank you Lynn Gosney for putting this truly insightful course together and to her teacher James Patrick Pinson for the wisdom and teachings passed on” – Luke Elliot Harvey \nI would highly recommend this course. I thought it well-structured\, immersive and challenging\, clearly designed to build up confidence in a natural way over the two weekends. Lynn and Wendy thoroughly covered all aspects of the drum-making process\, from sourcing and preparing the drum parts\, working with them in ceremony\, creating a drum and beater\, dealing with repairs\, and connecting with the spirit of the drum in journeywork\, to running a drum-making workshop. It was also great value for money\, providing two jam-packed weekends of in-depth tuition and practical experience\, plus four new drums to take away and a far greater level of skill and confidence. I left the second weekend feeling thoroughly ready and excited to help others create and connect with their own drums.Crystyl Potter

SUMMARY:Men of Heron Drum Circle (12th March 2025)
DESCRIPTION:Join us in the Round House for an evening of rhythm\, warmth\, and shared presence. We gather around the fire\, answering the call of the drum as it carries us into connection – with ourselves\, with each other\, and with those who walked before us.\n \nThrough steady beats and simple ritual\, we honour our ancestors and step out of the demands of daily life\, creating space to pause\, breathe\, and return to ourselves.\nThis is a circle for men to be real and unguarded – a place where laughter\, quiet reflection\, release\, and healing are all welcome. Nothing is expected of you beyond showing up as you are.\n \nFrame drums only. If you don’t have your own drum\, there will be drums available to borrow.\nDonations toward the running of the centre are gratefully received.

SUMMARY:Drum Birthing Workshop with Lynn Gosney & James Mead (27th March 2026)
DESCRIPTION:With nearly 30 years of experience\, Lynn will guide you on a magical journey to meet and create an incredible new friend – your very own drum. \nWe keep our workshops small\, with only three participants at a time\, so that each person receives the care\, attention\, and personal support needed to make the day truly special. \nOur workshops are held at Caer Corhrain Shamanic Centre on the Isle of Sheppey\, Kent – a beautiful heart space full of vibrant energy\, deeply loved by all who visit and experience its magic. \nYour drum is more than an instrument – it is a special friend and powerful medicine tool. It will support your healing\, carry you on breathtaking journeys\, and help you feel a deeper connection with the oneness of all. To birth your own drum is a deeply rewarding experience\, as you weave your love\, intent\, and energy into its creation. \nEach drum is made in the traditional way\, with lacing cut from the same hide\, keeping the spirit of the animal within the drum. \nDuring this full-day workshop\, you will be guided through the entire process of drum making: cutting both the hide and lacing\, punching the holes\, and honouring the spirits of the animal and the tree. When your drum is birthed\, you will also be led on a journey to connect with its spirit. \nImportant Information \nIn our workshops you will complete each step yourself—cutting the drum head\, punching the holes\, and preparing your own lacing—so you truly gain the full art of birthing your drum. \nDrums can be made from Stag\, Deer\, or Horse hide. You will also craft your own beater. Please confirm your choice of hide at the time of booking and deposit payment. \nWorkshop Fees \n14” Drum – £215 \n16” Drum – £225 \n18” Drum – £250 \nDeposit: 50% (non-transferable and non-refundable) \nYour place can only be secured once a deposit has been received. \nTo book or for more information\, please message via Facebook or email Lynn.gosney@hotmail.com
